Our captain, ‘big and strong Chad,’ has to give us, to give us an idea of an authentic Florida lake experience. At one point, he drove the airboat on the ground and got out of the boat for a picture of us. After the picture, he really cranked it up as he went north on Lake Toho. At the northern end of the tour, he has us in a few sidearms of the lake, where we see the marshy wetlands in the vicinity. On the way back, he took his foot on the brake and put it on the accelerator. He mentioned that airboats reach speeds of up to 65 miles per hour, I think we need to be very close. He even has some gentle curves with the boat, which has become an exhiliarating high-speed slalom experience for all of us in the boat.
